Place Studies
Keith Alnwick
Drawing focuses attention, enhances memory, and continually reveals new insights. The unifying thread of this project is to create drawings that serve as mnemonics and compressions of time, physical space, relationships, and sensation. When gathered together, these become a series of “small multiples” that speak to one another and reveal subtle differences and unseen connections.

This series of drawings grew from a ten-day study of mainland Greece in 2024 and focused on the relationship between classical architecture and figurative sculpture. Working directly from museums, historic sites, and architectural details, the drawings reflect a close study of proportion, form, material, and the human experience of space.
