Earth Station Art Studios

This project transforms a satellite receiving station (“Earth Station”) formerly used by Alascom into an art residency campus. The existing infrastructure consists of two massive satellite dishes, three windowless, concrete buildings built from hollow-core pretensioned concrete panels, and steel raceways that once conveyed air conditioning and electrical infrastructure.

This project will build art studios connected by elevated walkways, creating a scenic, brutalist park to be filled with gardens, paths, and social spaces. The main concrete building will be filled with art studios and a communal kitchen.
